Green Mountain Power, City of Montpelier open new EV charging station
Green Mountain Power (GMP) and the City of Montpelier have inaugurated a new public electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Vermont, US.
The new EV charging station, located behind City Hall, will enable the public to charge their vehicles at the station at no cost for the first year.
GMP president and CEO Mary Powell said providing this infrastructure across Vermont is a critical step toward the increased use of electric vehicles.
Montpelier City manager William Fraser said customers can charge up their electric cars while running errands downtown.
The Coulomb Technologies CT2100 Chargepoint EV charging station, which is compatible with all EVs, includes features such as on-line and smart phone directions and reservations, driver notification of charge status, and effortless charging session initiation.
