Schneider Electric, Parkeon Join Forces To Develop EV Charging System
Schneider Electric, a company engaged in energy management with operations, and Parkeon have signed an agreement to develop an EV charging system that will integrate energy management and pay by space technology.
Under the terms of the agreement, the partners will create a commercial and technical offer for pilots on EVs and related charging infrastructures, in Europe and North America, starting in 2010.
In public infrastructure, the issues of parking management and charging for EVs are directly connected. The partner companies will develop a system aimed at on-street and off-street parking and other similar applications.
The companies will develop projects within this partnership that will enable them to start installing on street and parking infrastructure for EV charging in 2011.
Parkeon and Schneider Electric, through their combined efforts, expect to provide their local authority clients a way to manage urban parking facilities integrated with an EV charging infrastructure.
Frederic Abbal, president of Schneider Electric, France, said: “Through this partnership, Schneider Electric reaffirms its ambition to offer simple, efficient and accessible charging solutions for future electric vehicle users, explained. This collaboration between Schneider Electric and Parkeon, both major players of their sectors, is the best way to rapidly develop the EV market.”
